Grant wins District 47 Debate and Straw Poll

(Tampa, FL) The Tampa Republican Club hosted a debate and straw poll for the Republican candidates running State House District 47 on Monday, April 12th. Following a spirited debate that included all five Republican candidates, a straw poll was held and James Grant was the decisive winner. Asked about the debate, Grant responded:

“The Tampa Republican Club deserves a lot of credit for their involvement in this process and I’m thankful for their interest in this race.  Last night they gave the people of District 47 an opportunity to hear from all of the candidates in this primary and a chance to make their own decision. In the end, the people voted for a conservative voice who is willing to go to Tallahassee and fight for limited government that is both responsible and efficient.  I am humbled to have their support.”

While discussing the debate and Grant’s win, Tampa Republican Club President, Jason Rodriguez, said: “Jamie Grant carried the night.  Our club wishes to extend to Mr. Grant congratulations for a job well done.”

James is a third generation Tampa resident who attended Tampa Jesuit, holds a Marketing degree with a Political Science minor from Auburn University, and a J.D. from Stetson University College of Law.  An attorney, Mr. Grant currently works for The Grant Law Group.
